Right now, the NW Flower and Garden Show is going on at the Seattle Convention Center – www.gardenshow.com. A great excuse to go into the city and jump-start your spring gardening juices. As always, the seminars are not to be missed. I picked Wednesday this year so that I could see Stephen Orr (Tomorrow’s Garden), Rosalind Creasy, the fairy godmother of edible landscaping and a very enthusiastic Jamie Durie who entertained the crowd while AV issues were worked out. I picked up Rosalind’s revised edible bible – Edible Landscaping - which I already have my nose in. Seminars continue Friday-Sunday with a roster of speakers that reads like “Who’s Who” of the gardening scene. Don’t miss it!

‘Wish I would have gone, I love Rosalind Creasy and Stephen Orr also.
P.S.- nice to see you’re back, I have missed your postings

Hi Susan,
Thanks for saying – I was down for the count for a bit with a grumpy neck that kept me off the computer but getting back to my old self. The seminars are always great, but I really have never quite connected with most of the displays so in my opinion you did not miss much there – except perhaps the fragrance. I always do enjoy the smaller displays that they have in the breezeway. Of the big gardens – this year, the Arboretum Foundation put together a great one that felt natural, or as natural as you can get in that setting. The rest felt a bit forced…
Hi again, I’m sorry about your neck, I suffered from that for about 2 years, ‘even ended up in the emergency room a few times over it, so I feel your pain (so to speak). About the F & G show, I guess that’s why I don’t go anymore- the exertion is not worth the results- I’d rather stay home and read a book
. I’m so looking forward to updates on your garden, it is one of my all time favorites.
